Dagher’s film tells the story of the sudden return, after a long time gone, of a young girl, Jana, to Beirut, where she finds herself reconnecting with the familiar yet strange life she had once left.

Ely Dagher was born and raised in Beirut (1985), he graduated with an MA in New Media and Contemporary Art Studies from the Goldsmiths College in London. He has been active in the arts world, working on various projects juggling between different points of identification and visual structures, from surrealism, science fiction and the occult. Dagher’s artworks function as an extension to his interrogations, juggling between different points of identification and visual structures, from surrealism, science fiction and the occult. His 2015 short film Waves ‘98 was screened all over the world at reputable festivals, such as Sundance and TIFF and was awarded the prestigious Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
